5) EXPLORE HOUSING OPTIONS


University Managed Housing

UH Mānoa Student Housing Services (SHS) manages 11 housing facilities which accommodate over 3,000 residents on-campus. In addition to the convenient access to classes and instructors, SHS residents have opportunities to engage with their peers, live/participate in residential learning programs, attend student events hosted by their hall staff team, develop their leadership skills through hall government, and participate in co-curricular activities that supplement their in-class learning. Additionally, there are Resident Assistants (peer student leaders) who live throughout the buildings who are excellent resources for navigating your housing and college experience.

If you are interested in living on campus, you must submit the housing application. To begin the application process, you will need the following:

UH-Affiliated Housing

Open to all majors, the new Residences for Innovative Student Entrepreneurs (RISE) is a cutting-edge live-learn-work facility that brings together under one roof: student housing, a dining facility, co-working and maker spaces, startups, and programs which include mentorship, startup training, skills development, and funding from the Pacific Asian Center for Entrepreneurship (PACE).
Applications for this privately-managed student housing are accepted year-round (pending availability).

6) SUBMIT FINAL DOCUMENTS


Before you become a full-fledged Rainbow Warrior, you must submit your final documents to the Office of Admissions:

  • Final official high school and/or college transcripts (with graduation date and final grades)
  • Official test scores(optional)

A document is considered official only if it is sent directly by the issuing high school, college, or testing agency to the Office of Admissions. .

7) PREPARE YOUR CLASS SCHEDULE

Fall semester registration period: Mid-July
Spring semester registration period: Late November

Every Warrior’s journey has a path. Create your class schedule and register for classes online through our standard registration system called STAR GPS. STAR GPS guides students to timely graduation by combining student history with their academic program information, creating a graduation pathway. Be sure to have the following, in order to register for classes:

  • Have your UH username
  • Confirm eligibility - you’ve been officially offered your admission to the University and paid your tuition deposit (see checklist #4)
  • Know your registration appointment time - you will be assigned an appointment time which can be found in STAR GPS
  • Clear any holds
  • Meet with your academic advisor

Academic Advisor

We encourage you to meet with an academic advisor. Each College and School provides advising services. Your acceptance letter denotes your admitted College or School. Undecided on a major? You will meet with an advisor at the Mānoa Advising Center.

Note that academic and admissions counselors provide different services:
Admissions Counselors can assist with admissions and enrollment questions.
Academic Advisors will assist you in choosing your classes and giving you more information about your major and its requirements.

A program sheet is a guide used to determine what courses you will need to take in order to earn your degree. It's an advising tool for students throughout their academic journey. To ensure proper progress you will need to meet with your academic advisor regularly. Program Sheets

Placement Exams

Some warriors may have additional tests that they must complete prior to beginning their journey. (You may contact your academic advisor if it is required to take a placement exam). STAR GPS will prompt students if a placement exam is required. Placement exams are available in:

  • Math (available online)
  • Chemistry (available online)
  • Languages

8) PAYING FOR COLLEGE


Payment deadline date may vary with each semester. The Office of the Registrar will post the deadlines online once they are available.Please check the Academic Calendar for payment deadlines.

ACADEMIC CALENDAR

The University offers a number of ways for you to pay your bill. Payments are accepted online (credit/debit cards or checking/savings account), by mail, or in person (cash or check only).. You may pay your bill online through MyUH Services (myuh.hawaii.edu). Search for or click on “Pay Tuition and Fees.”If you have applied for financial aid and accepted aid, it should be reflected on your account prior to the start of the semester.

Payment Plans


The University offers you the option to pay your bill in one payment or through installments using a payment plan. Payment plans are only available for fall and spring terms and are not available for summer terms. The cost to sign up is a non-refundable, per-semester fee of $30 per plan. You may sign-up for a payment plan online. Search for or click on “Enroll in Payment Plan.”

9) SUBMIT HEALTH CLEARANCE


We want to make sure all of our Rainbow Warriors are in fighting shape. Our campus has partnered with Med+Proctor for the clearance of Health Immunization Records. For instructions and deadlines, please visit Office of the Registrar's Health Clearance Requirements. All students must comply with health clearance requirements to attend classes.

NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION

For all new and incoming Rainbow Warriors, to officially welcome you to the University of Hawai’i at Manoa, Welina Mānoa encompasses everything you will need to connect yourself to campus. Welina Mānoa starts with a new student orientation called New Rainbow Warrior Orientation.

Living on campus? If you are living in the residence halls, they will have orientation type activities for you to participate in as well. Please check the Mānoa move-in website (when available) for information on your move-in dates.
