This Caffeine Free Immune Boosting Chai Teais spicy, creamy and absolutely delicious! Packed with immune boosting spices and herbs, this tea is perfect as an afternoon warming drink or served at a holiday gathering.
I LOVE chai tea, it’s one of my favorite beverages. I don’t drink caffeinated drinks, so my version of caffeine free immune boosting chai tea is without black tea. It may not be your common chai mixture, but it’s still rich, spicy and oh so yummy.
This caffeine free immune boosting chai tea is nourishing, immune boosting plus known forhavingmedicinal properties.
Cinnamon
Cinnamon has medicinal properties, is known for it’s warming effect and aids in digestion. It’s also sweet and spicy.
Fennel
Fennel is known to help with digestion and as an added bonus for nursing moms, it's knownfor increasing and enriching breastmilk.
Ginger
Ginger is known for being immune boosting, great for digestion, chills, colds and fevers {use with caution if pregnant, consult with your health care practitioner}.
Rose Hips
Rose hips are high in vitamin C, more so than many other herbs. They also contain vitamin A, B vitamins, vitamin E, calcium, iron, manganese, selenium and zinc. They have a wonderful sweet taste.
Cloves
Cloves are known for having medicinal properties and are an amazing antioxidant. They're known for aiding in digestion, helping prevent colds and flu. They're also known to help with circulation and heart, liver and stomach health.
Astralagus Root
Astragalus root is known for supporting the immune system and for having immune boosting properties.
Black Peppercorns
Black pepper is known as an antioxidant, known to have medicinal properties and aids in digestion.
Enjoy this caffeine free immune boosting chai tea year-round – hot in the winter months and iced in the summer.
Share some with friends and family too - the tea mixture would make a lovely homemade gift.
Caffeine Free Immune Boosting Chai Tea
Yield: 4-6 servings
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Inactive Time: 45 minutes
Total Time: 55 minutes
Spicy, Creamy and Absolutely Delicious!
Ingredients
- 4 cups filtered water
- 3 tablespoons cinnamon chips or 2 cinnamon sticks
- 1 tablespoon fennel seeds
- 1 tablespoon dried ginger root
- 1 tablespoon rose hips
- 2 teaspoons whole cloves
- 3 astragalus root pieces
- ½ teaspoon black peppercorns
- 1 cup raw/grass-fed/organic whole milk or coconut milk
- 3 tablespoons local honey or organic maple syrup
Instructions
- Combine cinnamon chips, fennel seeds, ginger root, rose hips, cloves, astragalus root and peppercorns in a small bowl or on a plate. {Store in an airtight container if you're not making the Chai Tea right away.}
- In a medium-size saucepan, bring water to a boil.
- Add all spices and herbs to the boiling water.Remove from heat, COVER and let steep for 30-45 minutes {the minimum of 30 minutes gives you an infusion, meaning you will get the full nutritional properties from the spices and herbs}.
- When the tea is done steeping, strain tea with a fine mesh strainer into a heatproof bowl or glass jar/container.
- Pour Chai Tea back into saucepan, add milk and sweetener of choice.Heat over low heat to desired temperature.
- Stir to combine and serve hot.
Notes
Vegan-Option:Replace milk with coconut milk and replace honey with organic maple syrup.
SeeMY STOREfor the coconut milk and other brands I recommend.
Storage:Store leftovers in the refrigerator in an airtight container like a quart-sizemasonjar, up to 3 days. When ready to drink, reheat on the stovetop in a small saucepan.
Note:This chai tea is delicious served over ice during the hot months too!

@LeafyLady, I add all of the tea (the 4 cups) back into the saucepan with the 1 cup of milk, heat it to the right temp and then serve. Whatever I have left, I store in the fridge and heat it up the next day.
